God's Child

Schooling, wife, children, cat, career and home;
I worked, studied, sweat and bled for these.
It is easy to claim these as my own;
Still my conscience will leave me ill at ease.

Oh God, I see thee blessing me but why?
I have peace and love, and am not alone.
Why art thou mindful of one such as I;
When all your creations demand thy attention?

I have four children, and hearing one cry;
Do I not rush to give him or her aid;
A kiss, hug, help or just stand by their side?
I am God's child and in His own image made.

So, His love for me should be no surprise;
Always standing before His tear fill'd eyes.
